Our house sold. Bittersweet. That's how I'm feeling. As I begin taking things down and placing our possessions in boxes I'm flooded with memories. This is our first home. The home where we had two beautiful children. Birthdays. Christmas's. Projects. Parties. Rainy day fires and movie nights. Smiles. Tears and time-outs on the stairs...

Yo lady! Where are you going? Also, weren't your cabinets stained at one time. I thought you had a post about how to paint stained cabinets - somehow you made it sound like it could be done. I am thinking about doing that to mine. I need some advice. I may have to call you later. Congrats on the house selling so quickly. But seriously, where are you going?

Call away if you have questions. I found a product called BIX TSP Concentrate. (There are other products out there too.) But basically you just wipe it on and let it sit for a few minutes and then wipe it off. It takes off the layer of gloss from the stain so that your paint adheres and allows you to skip the sanding step. Worked great. Painting cabinets- still some work but totally doable and I think worth it!
As for where are we going? Can you believe the answer is, I dunno. :) Damon got a new job- Border Patrol Agent. He was supposed to leave in July but because he got his hand caught in a table saw the month before it put things on hold. He's recovered now and is waiting to hear where exactly he'll be sent for training- (we'll be somewhere along the southern border. We sold our house too fast. Unbelievable and homeless. :) After the two year stint of training he'll be stationed in Bellingham. And I hope those two year fly by like the wind.... :)
